Predictions

 2022 MLB Season Predictions:

With opening day one week away, rosters being set and bets being placed, it's time to consider where the 2022 MLB season will round out.

AL East:

1. Boston Red Sox

2. Toronto Blue Jays

3. Tampa Bay Rays

4. New York Yankees

5. Baltimore Orioles

The top two teams will spend the season absolutely hunting one another, first place will not be held on by one team for very long periods. The Red Sox will begin the season without their ace, Chris Sale, but have added Trevor Story at 2B. Toronto made serious moves last season to get better and get better fast as well as off season moves that included the acquisition of Matt Chapman from Oakland. Tampa Bay figures to be thorn in their sides but won't be able to compete.

AL Central:

1. Chicago White Sox

2. Minnesota Twins

3. Detroit Tigers

4. Cleveland Guardians

5. Kansas City Royals

Chicago captured the division very early last year, in fact they captured their division before anybody else in MLB, however, it is not saying much when their division is considered to be one of the worst in baseball with the lowest winning percentage. Minnesota will capture a wild card and the rest of the division will continue to work to get better in years to come.

AL West:

1. Seattle Mariners

2. Houston Astros

3. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

4. Texas Rangers

5. Oakland Athletics

Seattle was a real underdog last season with some serious firepower in their lineup and a strong bullpen. It would not surprise me at all to see them make moves at the July deadline to get better. I feel Houston has taken a step back and i do see them in wild card contention but I believe they ultimately lose that spot to the Twins and Jays.

NL East:

1. Atlanta Braves

2. New York Mets

3. Philadelphia Phillies

4. Washington Nationals

5. Miami Marlins

Atlanta is the reigning World Series champions, they may have lost star 1B Freddie Freeman but they added Matt Olson from Oakland and he looks like a very viable replacement. The one thing they have going for them vs the Mets is their bats. The Mets have Scherzer and deGrom in their rotation. If you need to lose two games, face off against those two back to back games and call it a day.

NL Central:

1. Milwaukee Brewers

2. St. Louis Cardinals

3. Pittsburg Pirates

4. Chicago Cubs

5. Cincinnati Reds

Milwaukee is a young and talented team and that bullpen led by Josh Hader is something to behold. If you're telling me we need a run or two in the game and Hader is coming in from the bullpen I'm gonna go right ahead and start packing up and prepping for tomorrow's game. St. Louis doesn't like to be left out, it seems every single year they manage to weasel their way or they just outright own their division and take it home. Also, what are you doing, Cinci? Sold off? REALLY?

NL West:

1.Los Angeles Dodgers

2. Los Angeles Dodgers

3. San Diego Padres

4. San Fransisco Giants

5. Colorado Rockies

6. Arizona Diamondbacks

The Dodgers, the Dodgers, the Dodgers. Chances are they will send the most players to the all-star game by one team because they have an all-star lineup. They just added Freddie Freeman, they re-added Kershaw, they have an absolute wrecking ball of a lineup. I'm questioning if they will lose 60 games this year.
